Community classes, activities and events for older people.

Wheel Meet Again encourages older members of the community to take part in activities and social events.

Wheel Meet Again Over 50’s Project run a number of monthly activities each day to keep you entertained, busy and educated!

The event timetable can be found at the bottom of this page.

Regular activities

Please call for transport by 12pm the day before (or on Friday for transport for Monday) and please get in touch with any queries or suggestions.

Monday

  • 10am - 3pm IT drop in. Free.

Tuesday

  • 10am - 12pm Knit and Natter - Informal knitting and crochet group £2
  • 2pm - 4pm Ukulele lesson - Learn to play well-known songs on the uke. £2.

Wednesday

  • 10am - 3pm I.T/Job Club drop in - Computer basics, Universal Jobmatch. Free
  • 3pm - 5pm No Creative Writing until 10 January 2018. £2

Thursday

  • 10am - 1pm Line Dancing, Toxteth Town Hall. No pamper or lunch on 14 Secember 2017.

Friday

  • 1.30pm - 2.30pm The Reader Organisation Christmas event, WMA Garage. Free.
  • 2pm - 4pm Arts and Crafts (DCLP). £2.
  • No Christmas Craft on 15 December 2017. We will be having our celebration party on Friday 12th January 2018.

Digital Hub

We are a Union Learn Digital Hub. People can learn how to use the internet at our IT classes and use the internet at our Over 50s Job Club. It may be possible to arrange to use the computers outside of class times. Please ask.

Volunteering

If you have a few hours a week to spare and would like to register with us to assist with the project, we would welcome the opportunity to enrol you on our team.

We encourage and assist volunteers in gaining training and qualifications whilst working with us with assistance on hand to help you find paid employment.

If you are retired and simply wish to help out please contact us on number shown. Share your skills, from knitting to escorting a less mobile person, all volunteers welcome!

You can turn up or call the centre for more information. Door to Door Transport is available for mobility restricted residents (phone by 12pm the day before). To qualify for the subsidised transport, please have a health care professional sign the registration form at the bottom of this web page.
