Community classes, activities and events for older people.

Wheel Meet Again encourages older members of the community to take part in activities and social events.

Wheel Meet Again Over 50’s Project run a number of monthly activities each day to keep you entertained, busy and educated!

The event timetable can be found at the bottom of this page.

Regular activities

Monday

  • 10am - 3pm IT/Job Club. Free.
  • Mindfulness, 3pm - 4.30pm. Free.

Tuesday

  • 10am - 12pm Knit & Natter - Informal knitting and crochet group £2
  • 2pm - 4pm Ukulele lesson - Learn to play well-known songs on the uke. £2

Wednesday

  • 10am - 3pm I.T/Job Club - Computer basics, Universal Jobmatch. Free
  • 3pm - 5pm Creative Writing. £2

Thursday

  • 10am - 3pm Pamper day (Plus free chair yoga taster session), Toxteth Town Hall, £1.50 for treatments, £2 for lunch, chair yoga is free and starts at 1pm.

Friday

  • 10am - 12pm Christmas Crafts. Free.
  • 2pm - 4pm Arts and Crafts (DCLP). £2

Chair Yoga - Toxteth Town Hall, 1pm - 2.30pm. Free taster session.

Sunday 22nd October 2017

Speke Hall 11.30am - 3pm. Speke Hall is a rare Tudor timber-framed manor house in a most unusual setting on the banks of the River Mersey. Restored and brought back to life in the 19th century, it is a unique and beautiful mixture of Tudor simplicity and Victorian Arts and Crafts' aesthetics. £10 Admission & Return Minibus Travel.

Tuesday 31st October 2017

Halloween ‘Terrifying Tuesday’ 4.30pm—7pm. Dress for the occasion as there will be a prize for best dressed. Pumpkin Carving, fun and games and much more. £5 includes light buffet at Wheel meet Again.

Saturday 11 November 2017

Christmas Fair, 10am-4pm. Browse over 25 stalls, including Christmas cards & decorations, sweets & chocolates, jewellery, homemade fudge, children's toys, soaps & candles, baby gifts, hand crafted gifts and more.
Santa arriving at 11am and will be in his Grotto until 2.30pm. All letters to Santa posted in his own special post box will receive a reply.

Wednesday 22nd November 2017

Winter Survival Event. 10.00am—1.00pm. A free local event organised by Liverpool City Council’s Healthy Homes. A wide range of organisations offering expert advice on a wide range of issues including  fuel poverty, energy efficiency, healthy eating,  keeping active and much more. Holiday Inn Hotel (St John’s Shopping Centre) Lime Street.

Digital Hub

We are a Union Learn Digital Hub. People can learn how to use the internet at our IT classes and use the internet at our Over 50s Job Club. It may be possible to arrange to use the computers outside of class times. Please ask.

Volunteering

If you have a few hours a week to spare and would like to register with us to assist with the project, we would welcome the opportunity to enrol you on our team.

We encourage and assist volunteers in gaining training and qualifications whilst working with us with assistance on hand to help you find paid employment.

If you are retired and simply wish to help out please contact us on number shown. Share your skills, from knitting to escorting a less mobile person, all volunteers welcome!

You can turn up or call the centre for more information. Door to Door Transport is available for mobility restricted residents (phone by 12pm the day before). To qualify for the subsidised transport, please have a health care professional sign the registration form at the bottom of this web page.
