Centre for women offering information, activities and support.

WHISC provides information and support on a range of women's health issues such as menopause, breast health, and cervical screening. 

We have Support Groups for women affected by eating disorders, self harm / injury, menopause and mental ill health, including depression and anxiety. 

We offer relaxation classes, education course on women's health and exercise classes such as yoga and chi gong.  

We also have a listening ear and a drop in service Monday- Thursday 10am-4pm.

Daily Programme

‘WINDOWS’ With WHISC: Available to women needing help with using computers or the internet. We cover things such as how to turn a computer on and off, use search engines and basic software… to how to Skype friends and relatives across the world, online shopping, and staying safe online. All sessions are free but need to be booked in advance.

Weekley Programme

Call us on the day that you plan to visit to check that the class is running and that the time is unchanged on 0151 707 1826.

Monday

Women’s Reading Group: 3 – 4.15pm No pre-reading required, all material provided on the day.

Yoga for Wellbeing: 4.30 – 5.30pm.

Late opening 5 – 6 pm for appointments only.

Tuesday

ESOL 10am - 12pm

Make & Take Tuesday (Not on during half term week 20 Feb 2019): crafting workshop 12.15 – 1.30pm Donation please towards materials.

Belly Dancing 11.30am – 12.30pm.

Eating Disorder Support Group 4.30 – 5.30pm

Late opening 5 – 6 pm for appointments only.

Wednesday

WHISC for North Liverpool Women

  • WHISC will be providing a mini-service at Vauxhall Medical Centre (click) in North Liverpool. Sessions will include taster massages, exercise classes, health workshops & a chance to talk. Contact us for further information or Call Vauxhall Medical Centre on 0151 295 3737.

Mental Health Appointments: 11am onwards. Face-to-face appointments. Open for anyone who would like information about what support is available from WHISC and other local agencies. Free.

Blossom Tree Yoga: 1 -2pm. No yoga during half term week 20 Feb 2019

Strength and Support: 2.30 – 4.00pm. Support Group for anyone with depression or anxiety. Free

Domestic Abuse Support Group: 4.15 – 5.15pm Referral from agencies only.

Thursday

The 'Knitting Kittens' knitting group 10.30am to 12.30pm. Wool and needles are provided, all welcome.

Mental Health Appointments: 11am onwards. Face-to-face appointments. Open for anyone who would like information about what support is available from WHISC and other local agencies.

Pilates: 1 – 2pm Free. No pilates during half term week 20 Feb 2019

Tai Chi: 5 – 6pm Free.

Late opening 5 – 6 pm for appointments only

Friday

English Class (ESOL): 10am – 12pm A class designed to help women learn or improve their English.

Postnatal & Perinatal Depression: Support group, 10 – 11.45am. Free

The WHY Group: 12-2pm. Self-support group for women. Free

Ukulele Group: 2.30pm – 4pm Beginners welcome.

Saturday

Saturday Club: A group supporting the integration of all women, 11.00-2.00pm Free
