Liverpool Bereavement Service

Description

Bereavement Service offering one to one counselling.

Everyone experiences loss and bereavement at some stage during their lives. This can be a harrowing and life shattering time. People experience loss and bereavement in many ways from emotional numbness to anger and guilt. Often people feel that there is no-one to turn to and find it hard, sometimes impossible, to cope with the overwhelming grief.

The service is provided by committed volunteers, made up of skilled, experienced and qualified counsellors, together with trainee counsellors soon to become fully qualified.

Volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and deliver sensitive, non-judgemental and empathic counselling support specific to the problems people are experiencing.

We are an inclusive service working with adults of all ages and children and their families from four to eighteen years of age.

Please contact us if you would like help in coping with the difficulties you face as a result of loss and bereavement.

Oakleaf Children's Service

Our “Oakleaf” service is dedicated to helping children, young people and families during the difficult process of grief and loss, as a result of death, children experience emotional suffering and separation from a loved one.

We provide bereavement support and counselling to children and young people aged 4 to 18 years of age, to help them cope with their loss and to promote the health and well-being of each individual.

Our goal is to ensure that in supporting children, young people and their families that our interventions are timely, effective and of the highest standard.

“Oakleaf” can offer support on a “one-to-one” basis away from the home and school environment, or alternatively where likely to be more effective, on a “one-to-one” basis within the school environment.

The “Oakleaf” support offered will include facilitated loss and grief group work within schools, providing coping strategies to help manage the pain of loss that results from death, separation through relationship break ups, abandonment and imprisonment.
